Very much so.
Fuel contamination is of greater concern in the same quantity, as water.
A leaking injector just bleeding rail pressure off when the car isn't
running is worse the same quantity of water in the sump

The TBN of the oil if effected A LOT more greatly with fuel than water.. If
any with water, decreasing its ability to neutralize acids formed in the
combustion process.
I've seen many times 1st hand acidic corrosion in engines due to drop in
TBN.
Then again, water will catalyze corrosion also.
Viscosity decreases with fuel, but increases with water also
