There were a few years that 305 equipped carby pickups had knock control
(termed ESC) along with the vacuum advance.  The knock control was able
to retard spark electronically.  If the distributor has an external
connector for the module (I think it was 4 pins) and a vacuum canister,
then you have a distributor from an ESC equipped truck.
