Your running a boost signal straigh to the WG? If so, installing a decent
boost controller of any sort should improve spool significantly.
BTW, getting the signal after the throttle body can cause overboost on pa=
rt
throttle and possibly massive surge.

Subject: Re: [Diy_efi] Pressure readings perpendicular to airflow
As an aside on this discussion, did some recent experiments, hooking up t=
he
signal line to the wastegate actuator to a couple of different
points. Normally, its connected to a small barb on the compressor scroll
housing (TE60) which tends to be a bit teeny. Installing a 5/16" I.D.
barb in the section of pipe between the turbo outlet & intercooler gave
better response, mainly because the teeny barb in the compressor presente=
d
a restriction to the airflow in/out of the WG actuator - you also want a
large ID fitting into the actuator. Response was better w/ a larger barb
elsewhere. Also, cutting the end of the 5/16" tube at a 45=B0 angle & fa=
cing
it into the airflow gave lessened spikes on sudden pressure increases
(shifts & TC lockup), but also a slower return to desired boost after a
spike. Airflow *from* the WG back into pipe the was impeded by having to
overcome static as well as dynamic pressure. Wound up w/ the 5/16" tube
flush w/ the wall of the turbo/IC pipe, gave best overall results.
YMMV, FWIW, 2=A2, etc -
Barry
