Steve,
The Japanese Manufacturers really don't care for the "repair" market.
If your really lucky they'll have an engine bay wiring harness for less
than a grand.
Most of the looms are made by outside contractors that design,
manufacture
and own the IP. They don't supply connectors or pins.
The Germans on the other hand will sell you a single rubber boot
for an injector they last made 30 years ago. Bosch still make spark
plugs
for WW2 aircraft engines.
Try this FORD part number E9EB-14489-KA at your local dealer.
They use about 15,000,000 a year but don't supply them as spares.
(Ignition module connector) we had to buy a machine roll of pins from
the dreaded Yazaki 8,000 long as a minimum order.
On the other hand race teams throw their looms away on a regular basis.
So an IRL Toyota engined team would have trash cans full of them.
Toyota always try and use their own bits on race machines as part of the
factory philosophy of "improving the breed"
HTH
Phil
