Bevan--

Something FAR superior to the standard P&H drivers can be done.

As I've said here before, look up the design for the hammer throw circuits
for the final generation of mechanical, high speed teletype printers ! The
electro-mechanical problem is a dead analog to the problem of moving an
injector pintle, and the teletype circuits got a great deal more
sophisticated about doing the job _very_ quickly than any injector driver
ever has.

Using this type of circuit (made from discreet components) to drive
injectors, while it would take up a good deal more board real estate, would
also open up a whole new world of injector performance and dynamic range.
