Anyone considered the Mitsubishi Automotive MCUs ? If not then look at
something like
M32160 or M32170 (if you want 32bit power),
operating temp -40 to 110degC
up to 35 output timers
10 I/O timers
16 bit and 32 bit input timers (lots)
10 bit ADC
Serial I/O up to 6
CAN
Flash memory

Cheers

Dan

<The TriCore chips are very nice looking however are a little limited in
some
<areas:
<They only have 24 analog inputs (nice 8/10/12bit resolution though)
<They have no onchip FLASH (this means that extra FLASH chips would be
<required, and I hate routing 32bit bus' on 4 layer boards :)
<The DSP functionality is cool, but hopefully it won't really be needed.
<Some basic curve fitting is all that's required, and it looks like
(from
<Ville's Paper) all that's really required is two slope matching
processes
<for each cyclinder event :)
<
<Nice idea though,
<They do look suited for a simple Automotive Controller.
<
<Thanks,
