Yet another 'It's not possible'. Because there are 2 types of
knocks: pre (hot spots) and post (compression) ignitions. They lead
to very different torque changes. You could not distinguish torque
changes due to knocks from that due to mecanical/route disturbances
as they could all give the same torque change.

When there are no knock sensors there are knocks (old carb turbo
engines).
