yep.

I can't comment on that. You're probably right. Depends on lotsa thingy. 

Anyway, if I build my own boards it would contain a current
measuring resistor so powerline (not just ground) to the power
components must be sufficient anyway.
(Measuring is good for diagnostics as well, not just PWM limiting). 

However Michael's AVR-megasquirt board looks so great to me overall that
I might not bother to design my HW at all, and go with this great thing
even if there are small spots I'd design slightly differently.
