hmm lets see, the early ford ( escort came out in 81 w/carb and 86 w/efi) escorts were 1.9l they ran speed density, I think even the early 2.3l's were also... MAF sensors didnt come around on Fords until the 87 5.0l v-8 mustangs.. .hmmm 85 was first year of roller motor but carb'd... 86 ran efi speed density, and 87, but I digress. For Gm... I know the cavilers ran little 2.0l engines that were also speed density. Your best bet is spend some time in my second home.... the local Pick-a-part salvage yard. I love it there, you get so many diff engine setups... plugs of any types for engines, lights, or what ever to look at and rip apart to see how it works if necessary... Im thinking you will also need to hunt around and find a system, of say off a escort caviler or other GM N-body car. Oh by the way ford escorts ran single injector... early hondas ran 2 inj a primary and secondary, so keep that in mind when thinking of your manifold design. Find out what pressure those injectors are
and see what other models run that might be less pressure or what they call the pound rating... your less CC's will not require as much fuel. If i remember right you want the injectors no less than 80% duty cycle for good operatiron. I know that my GM 3800 SC engine runs a 36lb injector, but can swap in bosch injectors from a ford lightning that are 42lbs, so you need to ask around and find out... get on some www BB's or web pages and ask the escort guys.

I can share more info but digest that first and what other questions do you have????

Hi Jim, thanks for your reply. My Gold wing is a 1200 cc flat four. Any idea what year and models of those early Ford/GM cars might be? What is the advantage of using the speed density system?

Thanks, Vic
