[Diy_efi] More 4.3L TBI Timing Issues. WinALDL data logs

I was finally able to get WinALDL running on my laptop and actually get it
in the car this morning. I used the datalogger to log some information.
The file names linked below describe the general type of driving while data
was being logged. I did notice that the TPS is only recording temps of
around 160? or so. I am running a 195? thermo, so it should be quite a bit
higher than that. I also noticed in the "Flag Data" tab, MWAF1 section,
that both the "Closed Loop Flag" and the "Clear Flood Flag / Not Closed
Loop" flags are checked. I don't see how it could be in both open and
closed loop at the same time...maybe that's part of the problem.

I was hoping to be able to post these files in my Yahoo briefcase, but they
seem to have changed their policy on file sharing...

These files are located in my web site home directory, but are not linked
from it. The links above will take you directly to the files. If I need to
adjust the data being logged to make it (more) useful please let me know.
My Code 32 EGR problem popped up again this morning as well. Guess I'm not
done with that repair yet, either. I've replaced both the EGR valve and the
solenoid that controls it...what's left?

I'm planning on taking the ECM out of the Malibu and putting it in my S-10
pickup tomorrow to see if the timing problem follows the ECM or stays with
the car. If it turns out that the problem is actually in the wiring (the
most likely problem) then I'm very tempted to order a Painless Wiring TBI
harness instead of trying to troubleshoot a 20 year old harness.

Thanks for all of the help so far...

Dave
