IAT correction is done differently by OEMs and the AfterMarket
Ecu (AMEs).

Aftermarkets would (should) always start with the default curve
generated by the absolute relationship between O2 content per
unit volume VS IA temp.

This should not have any "wiggly bits" when graphed.

On the other side OEM have a world of issues to deal with other
than great acceleration, max power and some minor concessions
to fuel economy.

No OEM can avoid the gms/kWHr game with all it's attendant
cost and complexity.

Given that they sell turbo charged vehicles with 5 year powertrain
warranties they are forced to choose between retarded timing and
fuel restriction at high IATs thus over heating their warranted turbos
or using the customers money to cool said device. Guess which one
they choose.
