Thanks for the offer, very generous - although I think I might be on the 
wrong continent for it to make sense cost wise...

I just ran across an electronic kit for 20ukp. Looks reasonably well 
built (and quite pretty too) so I'll run with that I think (I can grab 
it off the shelf today too).
