Bill, If your supplier is certain that you have the right combo of rotor - 
cap, I'd measure the radial play of the shaft and rotor, and add a few thou.
I've just checked 4 different manuals and came up with no clues. 2 quoted 
end play,
no mention of radial play. The old rule of thumb was if you could feel it, 
it needed a bush.

The least gap in the cap means more energy at the spark plug.
