I received the reply from the Link tech support and they said that my
link ecu can be upgraded to V4 or V5. they charge me $330nz for the
upgrade.

Is there any other people that I can buy the chips for upgrade?

I don't know if your LINK 1, circuit board marked 1998 can be upgraded.
I
have never seen one marked 1998. However, if you send them your ECU, it
can
be checked out, tested with the upgraded part to see if it can.
If it can't, you don't lose anything (except some time and maybe
shipping
costs). Just my $.02 worth.

Once upgraded, the PC can act as a data recorder. You choose what
signals
you want to monitor. (All of them if you want).

This works the same with the LINK Plus also.

Just a note, if you already have a LINK LEM4, (circuit board marked 2002
or
2003, those can be upgraded to the LINK LEM5 or version 5 (software
marked
D42V5).

These have the advantage of having another user programmable output,
plus a
wide-band O2 sensor input, and a few other features.
This too is a chip change and a few other parts as well because it uses
a
faster processor.

Hope this info helps......Tim.

Hi,
I have opened the Link Ecu and the PCB marked is "1998". Is it capable
of upgrading the chip to V4?

Regards,
Remy
