[Diy_efi] Megasquirt

Fred, thats a lot like the Pot calling the kettle black. Megasquirt
is really just a rip off of the GM ecms then.
The code is so similar that you can use megatune's autotune automated
tuning on the GM code58 based bins.

Vems is just as open or closed as Megasquirt. Bowling and Gripo
charge for the right to produce the PCB's.
Bowling and Gripo also keep the source to Megasquirt in assembly
langage all in one file. This makes changing it nearly impossible.
I have a few copies of the Jan-2002 issue of Circuit Celler which has
the article written by Bowling and Gripo that started the whole
megasquirt project. It outlines all the major parts of the code and
hardware. It's a great howto on writing your own EMS.
I think the VEMS project is just trying to protect their work on
IONSENSE or possible protect themselves from the owners of those
patents.
