Learned a few things about '96 and ALDL

Well I finally got a chance to look through the contents of my 96 Camaro
PCM. I'm trying to communicate with it via ALDL. Here is how it uses
the ALDL:

While the ALDL is used, it doesn't do much in the '96. It only supports
a few commands, and those commands only allow you to see a few things.
For dumping data, it only supports Mode 1,message 0 and Mode 1, message
4. These messages give you the VIN, rail #, and some basic engine
parameters. The commands that allow you to dump the contents of the
PCM, and the commands that allow you to download code have all been
removed.

Looks like I'm off to the world of OBD-II

Just a little more data 'for the cause', if you are interested.
