'98 Vortec 350 - Good swap into a Jeep?

Hi,

I'm doing a engine swap into my '81 CJ7.  I have found a '98 Vortec 350 with
only 8000 miles on it.  My question is this:  Does this "Vortec" computer
system require a transmission with electronic controls?  I plan to use a
TH700R4 ('93) with no computer controls.  Is there anything else I should be
aware of with the Vortec system?  Does this engine use a mechanical
distributor?
