'98 Vortec 350 - Good swap into a Jeep?

As far as functionality, i think the vortec engines
all use a mass-air sensor.  If you go 4-wheeling in
your jeep and tend to get muddy or wet, you have to be
extra cautious about where your air intake is, because
muddy water hurts that expensive MAF sensor.
