For back to back testing they are at least fair.
Depends alot on car, and initial "launch".
I made my own time to distance timer.
Rewired a stop watch, and then the timer starts after two revolutions of the
rear tires, and stops 100 revolutions later. So it's about 600', plenty of
time, for hook-up (checking for bog), and some decent MPH (mixture under
load). I used stuff out of radio shack, and Forrest Mimms book. No I don't
have a diagram, it was a real kludge, but 8 years later still works.
