The dealer computers don't read the PCM. They just read a security byte and
the vin if it is there. Then the terminal just loads the PCM with software.
On some trucks minor tire size differences can be done, but that is it. Its a
real basic system and anyone can do it. If you have a part #, the dealer
should be able to sell you a box with nothing in it. I can't buy Saturn parts
directly through my Chevy dealer where I work otherwise I'd send you one.
