I have a paper somewhere in my files on the chracteristics of EGT vs ZrO
O2 calibration. The effect is quite significant.
I will send it to you when I get time to dig it out.
It is not wise to solder the O2 lead, according to the Helms, however
the reason they give no longer is valid.  The new O2's have outside
ambient airports built into the sensor body. One of the potential
problems is dissimilar metals at the junction of the splice which
creates a T/C junction inducing bias millivolts.
