Yes,
the Syclone & Typhoon trucks were GMC S-trucks with a turbo, intercooler
and AWD. The pickup (Syclone) was made only in 1991, The 4-passenger
Typhoon was made from 91-93. They used many parts from other GM
vehicles. The viscous coupling (AWD unit) was from the AWD Astro van.
The Shifter & console was from the Vette. The gauge cluster was a modified
turbo sunbird part. I bought a Syclone new, and with little more than a
chip,
it was solidly in the 12's at over 100mph on unleaded gas, through the cat
on the factory tires. They had 245/50-16s from the factory, so they even
handled
pretty well. The engines aren't as durable as the turbo Buicks however.
