Datamaster 3.3.0 problems, Data Ok errors every 2 frames

While connected to a local Teal Typhoon down here we noticed that the
Data Ok box keeps blinking red. It seems to loose the connection to the
ecm for 1 or 2 frames.
We tried a different laptop with a different cable - same problem
Different Ecm - same problem
tin foiled everything - same problem
My best guess is that some kind of EMI or RF is causing the problem.
This Ty does have the AC delete heater box and an MSD 6A installed on
top of it, but from what he remembers the problem didn't start when that
was installed.
Any Ideas?? thanks.
