Crooked Dealer?

Maybe a good experiment to prove to them (and yourself) that the ECM is
not responsible for the ignition would be to remove the ECM entirely and
crank it over on go-juice?  If you got the same type of response from the
motor, there'd be no pretending that the ECM was responsible for the
sparks.

Maybe a better way of doing the same thing would be to pull a wire, stick
a plug in it, ground the outer electrode, and crank it.  Pull the ECM and
repeat.

Just curious, if this is a theft repair, wouldn't the complete repair be
covered by your insurance, even if the ECM of fuel pump or whatever is
bad?  Let 'em replace whatever they want!
