VSS operation

The pcm isn't connected to the cruise on the C1500, the VSS goes directly to 
the cruise control module. The Helms manual may not reference the VSS to the 
idle, EGR or purge possibly because diagnostics can't be performed in a 
moving condition. The two major spark maps are controlled by mph and off idle 
driveability is enhanced with VSS input. The VSS input is easily duplicated 
for this pcm. What transmission are you considering using? Have you already 
obtained the pcm and/or engine setup?
