Metric/US horsepower?

The W (watt), and its multiple unit kW (kilo-watt), are SI units for power.
Here, in Brazil, regardless the oficial rules and codes use if SI units, the
power unit used day by day is Horse-Power (HP).
So, like a hidraulic designer, I always make my designs for pumps in kW,
but, when I have to buy they, I have to talk in HP.

I have used 1 HP = 746 W = 0.746 kW without problems.

Best regards

Aron
