165 MAF Computer

I've done a few hundred chips, mostly for my car and a few friends
cars. All of these cars have modified maf sensors. At minimum the
screens are removed, at most the heat sinks too.
The ecm software is limited to 255 grams/sec. The maf sensor will
flow more air than that, but the software can't read it.
My stock 87 vet would read up to 208 grams/sec, it ran 14.2 at 101 best.
I now have a 355 with Superram, Hot LT4 cam, TPIS headers, ported heads
and I max out the maf at about 4700 rpms. Above that, since the maf is no
longer reading air flow the system becomes alpha n.
When a larger or more air flow system is used the maf pegs out earlier.
If your maf is reading properly and you are only reading 175 grams/sec then
your system just isn't flowing much air.

My car makes a bit over 300 rwhp, my best now is a severely traction limited
13.4 @ 107.7 mph.

I don't know where the 175 grams/sec came from, but I can guarantee it's
horse
pucky!

Mark
