First like to introduce myself, I am Dustin Lof, I am
a mechanic at a small independent repair shop in north
central Minnesota. From the rumors I have heard I am
considered one of the best driveability mechanics in
the area, I am not sure of the truth to the rumors but
I do my best to make sure everything that comes
through my door gets fixed and never returns.

I recently converted my carburated Chevrolet pickup to
a tbi setup, I used a 1227747 ecm and I bought an
autoprom and am using tunepro to program a chip for
the way to big cam in way to little motor installed
in said pickup. I have some questions about the
meanings and/or functions of some of the terms in some
of the $42 hacs I have read but that is another story.

The reason I am writing here is i would like to make
some changes to the binary file in my daily driver, it
is a 1993 Buick LeSabre with a 3.8 and a
4T60E.(Because big tires + low gears + stall
converters + big cams = big gas bill for pickup
mentioned earlier) The PCM is a 16141470 with a
broadcast code of BFJJ, i looked at tunercats website
and saw that it is supported but there are three
different binary definitions available $5B3,4,&5, I
looked on Craig Moates website, and there is a folder
for that PCM but it only contains one binary file.
and nowhere did I find any hacs or ecu files. first
if i decide to buy tunercats license and the revelant
definition file, which one would I need, or better yet
how do I find out for myself which one I need? If I
stick with the tune pro I am using now, where can I
find a hac or and ecu file (or several) to create my
own definitions from?

Also I have seen links to these types of files on the
diy-efi sites but they all are dead links, or they
wont allow me access. Is this a problem on my end?

Is there a way to search the archives on this site by
a specific key word. i.e. "wide band o2" without
spending hours reading irrevelant posts?

I know I ask a lot of questions, but you can never get
any smarter if you dont. Thanks to whoever reads this.
  Dustin Lof
