[Gmecm] speed sensor and trans question for carb to TBI swap

Just a note, from my understanding 82 was a "bastard" year for speed
sensors/cruise control. The speed sensor, at least for cruise is mounted in
the engine bay. One cable runs from the transmission to the sensor unit,
then a second from there to the speedometer.

I've only delt with this system on my 1982 caprice that was a diesel.
Mostly it was just as I took the parts off the car because the sensor siezed
up and snapped the 1st cable. I put on a later one piece cable.

Have heard the 1982 F-body worked the same way, would naturally assume
trucks/everything else was like that.

I could be wrong about this, and that sensor unit might work the same was as
the speedometer mounted unit on later cars.
