Ed, I use an inline pump on my K5 Blazer (Mallory 4060FI) along
with the flakey in-tank pump. It now runs better than it ever did,
(even with a good OEM pump). The check valve in the OEM
pump is necessary it seems. Engine stalls with booster off.
As for sparking: I have the same question.
That's a brush-type motor in the tank! What if
fuel level is at min, and the motor brushes are exposed?
