Fuel octane question

If I recall correctly, your 97 or 98 RON fuel is equivalent to a US 94/95
octane fuel (slightly higher octane than the normally available premium fuel
in the US which is 93 to 94 octane by the (MON+RON)/2 method). Some OE
manufacturers claim slightly higher power outputs for boosted engines in
Europe and attribute it to the higher octane fuel available (as Toyota did
with the Supra twin turbo).
