"Ambient" as my engine sees it, is about 15°F above actual outside
temperature. I just reported what my logger shows; after all the recent
discussion, I won't pretend to know *how* this happens, nor do I really
care....
I have to believe, though, that the little bitty sensor, being so poorly
coupled thermally to the body that holds it, is responding to the actual
air temp, not the manifold (metal) temp. To heat a couple of pounds of
aluminum 30deg in just a few seconds is gonna take one heck of a lot of
heat - not possible.
