NOBODY, I repeat NOBODY waste their time applying to this "potential employer". I fell for this rouse a few years back. I gave him my resume and answered his questions. I emailed him a few follow-up emails. Then he finally emails me back (a month later) mentioning that he received my emails and doesn't mention anything about the "job" and wished me luck on my fuel injection problems. A blow-off, he got his answers from the group.
The guy is trolling for answers that he can't resovle.
DO NOT STRIKE HIS JOB OFF "BAIT"!!!!!
REPEAT!!!!
DO NOT STRIKE HIS JOB OFF "BAIT"!!!!!
Looks like Al has to sweeten the pot with cash. Monopoly money doesn't spend well outside of the board game.
Al, post an ad in Monster.com if you are even halfway interested.

Subject: Wanted: EFI software expert
We are a small company that designs EFI systems for a variety of
applications (We post much info on the diy_efi site, such as the ECU6/7
system and PC-Based EFI system). Currently, we are looking for someone who
would be willing to do telephone/internet consulting for us. I know this
newsgroup is not really a place for this type of request, but I'm hoping
that in consideration of all the help I've offered people over the years,
perhaps I can get some assistance. We are looking for someone with
experience designing algorithms and software for ECUs, preferably with at
least 2 or 3 years industry experience doing this type of work. We are
essentially looking for someone we can call or email with involved technical
questions and get answers based on experience, not experimentation. Example
of the types of questions we would expect knowledge of are:
- - How would a system concerned with reducing emissions have its
accelerationenrichment algorithm designed? This includes determining
asynchronous PW,
interval between pulses and async duration. How would these values be
determined based on delta TPS and delta MAP? What other factors are
involved?
- - How can deceleration enleanment and deceleration fuel cutoff be
implemented without promoting cylinder wall quenching under prolonged
deceleration?
- - How would closed loop operation be best implemented in a system designed
to reduce HC, CO and NOx. What algorithm would be appropriate for
determining step, jump and transport delay.
- - How is altitude compensated for in a speed-density system?
These are representative of the type of issues we deal with, and reflect the
level of knowledge and experience we require in a consultant. We are
prepared to pay appropriate consulting wages for someone of this caliber.
If you refer such a person to us and we end up hiring them, we will pay you
a $100 finders fee. Thank you for your time.
Best wishes,
Al Lipper,
President, Injection Logic
