[Diy_efi] Analog input->Character LCD display?

Just wondering if there is anything or anyway to do the following.

Look at a analog input (in the 0-5V range), run it through a program, and
display it as a translated character on a character LCD display?

Bascially I'd like this thing from the DIY-WB site
(http://www.diy-wb.com/at_disp.jpg) with it being stand alone, just taking the
voltage input. I was also hoping to take the input from the MAP sensor and
display that on the same LCD.
